Amin Ahmadzadeh receives the Hoard’s Dairyman Youth Development Award

Champaign, IL (June 1, 2023)—The American Dairy Science Association® (ADSA®) is pleased to announce Amin Ahmadzadeh as the 2023 recipient of the Hoard’s Dairyman Youth Development Award. The award will be presented on Tuesday, June 27, 2023, during the awards ceremony at the ADSA Annual Meeting in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada.

The Hoard’s Dairyman Youth Development Award was created to recognize a candidate who has had significant involvement in dairy-related youth activities in either a professional or a volunteer capacity for a minimum of 10 years. The recipient shall be highly regarded in the dairy industry for his or her role in personal development of dairy youths and for enhancing knowledge of and interest in the dairy industry. The winner need not be a member of ADSA and may have worked with youths of any age, up to and including college, in many possible capacities, such as coach, counselor, teacher, adviser, mentor, chaperone, or supervisor.

Amin Ahmadzadeh, PhD, MS, has been a professor for more than 23 years at the University of Idaho. He has taught 6 undergraduate courses, serves as an adviser to more than 40 undergraduates, and consistently demonstrates his dedication and commitment to the well-being of students. Ahmadzadeh is often in the classroom, advising students in his office, meeting with the Dairy Club, helping with 4-H and Future Farmers of America student activities, supporting the ADSA Undergraduate Student Division, and working with the US Dairy Education & Training Consortium or regional and national North America Intercollegiate Dairy Challenge. He is an outstanding educator, mentor, and adviser dedicated to students’ academic and professional development.
