Champaign, IL (June 7, 2024)—The American Dairy Science Association® (ADSA®) is pleased to announce Lisa Holden as the 2024 recipient of the Purina Animal Nutrition Teaching Award in Dairy Production. The award will be presented on Tuesday, June 18, 2024, during the awards ceremony at the ADSA Annual Meeting in West Palm Beach, Florida.

The Purina Animal Nutrition Teaching Award in Dairy Production was created to recognize outstanding teaching of undergraduate students in dairy science. Lisa Holden, PhD, is an associate professor of Dairy Science at The Pennsylvania State University and the 2024 recipient of the Purina Animal Nutrition Teaching Award in Dairy Production. She has taught more than 100 formal undergraduate or graduate-level courses and many nonformal extension-education offerings. Her teaching style is interactive, drawing on her extension expertise, bringing examples into the classroom, and providing students with on-farm experiences. She leads teaching for several dairy-management classes, collaborates in a graduate-level global agricultural systems course, and coaches the Dairy Challenge students. She is dedicated to the success of her students and strives to provide positive learning experiences.
