Champaign, IL (June 7, 2024)—The American Dairy Science Association (ADSA®) is pleased to announce that Mary Beth Hall has been named Fellow of the American Dairy Science Association. The award will be presented on Sunday, June 16, 2024, during the opening session at the ADSA Annual Meeting in West Palm Beach, Florida.

The purpose of the ADSA Fellow Award is to recognize Dairy Foods division and Production division members of ADSA who have rendered distinguished service to the dairy industry over 20 years or more. The recipients must have made exceptional contributions to the dairy industry, to a dairy-related discipline, or to ADSA; in addition, the recipients must be and have been a member of ADSA for a minimum of 20 years.

Mary Beth Hall is a research animal scientist in dairy cattle nutrition with the United States Department of Agriculture-Agricultural Research Service (USDA-ARS) at the US Dairy Forage Research Center in Madison, Wisconsin. She received her BS and PhD degrees from Cornell University and her MS from Virginia Tech. Pre-PhD, Hall worked as a County Agricultural Cooperative Extension Agent in New York State; post-PhD, she worked as an associate professor in dairy cattle nutrition research and extension at the University of Florida. With a focus on the industry’s needs, her research centered on nonfiber carbohydrates—their analysis in feeds, utilization by rumen microbes, and impact on cow performance.

It is with great pleasure that ADSA presents Mary Beth Hall with the 2024 Fellow of the American Dairy Science Association distinction.
