Scott A. Rankin named Fellow of the American Dairy Science Association®

Champaign, IL (June 7, 2024)—The American Dairy Science Association (ADSA®) is pleased to announce that Scott A. Rankin has been named Fellow of the American Dairy Science Association. The award will be presented on Sunday, June 16, 2024, during the opening session at the ADSA Annual Meeting in West Palm Beach, Florida.

The purpose of the ADSA Fellow Award is to recognize Dairy Foods division and Production division members of ADSA who have rendered distinguished service to the dairy industry over 20 years or more. The recipients must have made exceptional contributions to the dairy industry, to a dairy-related discipline, or to ADSA; in addition, the recipients must be and have been a member of ADSA for a minimum of 20 years.

Scott A. Rankin is a professor and chair of the Department of Food Science at the University of Wisconsin–Madison. He earned degrees from Brigham Young and Oregon State Universities. He leads outreach programs, including milk pasteurization, dairy chemistry, and frozen desserts. His research has resulted in numerous grants and publications as well as multiple awards, including the Eckelman Foundation Fellowship, Society of Flavor Chemists Memorial Fellowship, ADSA Foundation Scholar Award, the ADSA Foundation Food Specialties Award, and the Brigham Young University Alumni Achievement Award. He served as president of ADSA (2013–2014) and as a senior editor for the Journal of Dairy Science.

It is with great pleasure that ADSA presents Scott A. Rankin with the 2024 Fellow of the American Dairy Science Association distinction.
