Champaign, IL (June 7, 2024)—The American Dairy Science Association® (ADSA®) is pleased to announce Vii Pszczolkowski as the 2024 recipient of the ADSA Midwest Scholar Award. The award will be presented on Tuesday, June 18, 2024, during the awards ceremony at the ADSA Annual Meeting in West Palm Beach, Florida.

The ADSA Midwest Scholars Award recognizes and features the research accomplishments of recent PhD graduates or current PhD students from the ADSA Midwest Branch in the advanced stages of their program (i.e., within 12 months of degree completion) at the ADSA Annual Meeting. The intent of the Young Scholars Program is to recognize the accomplishments of students in many disciplines through an invited presentation format; it is not intended as a competition.

Vii Pszczolkowski, PhD, is a postdoctoral research animal scientist at the US Dairy Forage Research Center in Madison, Wisconsin. They completed their PhD in 2023 at the University of Wisconsin–Madison, where they studied energy and amino acid metabolism in lactation. As a postdoctoral researcher, their work involves studying dietary forage’s effects on dairy cow metabolism and production, with a particular focus on alfalfa feeding.

It is with great pleasure that ADSA and the ADSA Midwest Branch present Vii Pszczolkowski with the 2024 ADSA Midwest Scholar Award.
